Cable Beach

Cable Beach offers the ideal mix of relaxation and adventure on its picturesque coastline. Rent a chair or blanket, spread out, and relish its soft sand. Stroll along Nagula Walk trail; try watersports; or even swim between May and October when waters are stinger-free!

Explore one of Broome’s iconic sunsets while on a leisurely camel caravan along Cable Beach or enjoy a memorable dinner on the sand – perfect for making this experience truly unforgettable! Pearling Museum provides an insightful glimpse into Australia’s North West pearling industry. Kids will especially enjoy exploring the Japanese Cemetery – dedicated to over 900 Japanese pearl divers who perished during a devastating cyclone in 1908!

History enthusiasts can experience the story of Pearling by touring Gantheaume Point at the southern end of Cable Beach. Best seen during sunset hours, but worth visiting any time of day to take in its breathtaking natural features and see red cliff faces with white sandy beach at low tide – an area known for housing dinosaur footprints estimated to be 120 million years old!

Roebuck Bay’s famed tides give it its iconic color and attract so many visitors. Spend some time at just the right moment on its beach to witness how its hue changes from deep orange to deep red, pink and purple as the waters recede before returning back into their blue-green state again.

At nightfall during certain full moons, you can witness the spectacular phenomenon known as’staircase to the sky’ at Gantheaume Point tidal flats can produce the staircase effect caused by water puddles reflecting light from the moon onto their surfaces and creating this staircase effect. Planning your walk accordingly to maximize this viewing is key to witnessing it at its best!

Town Beach

The Town Beach and Sports Complex features ocean and bayside beaches, transient marina and boat launching ramp, spray park, playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, dog park and concessions. Open from Memorial Day-Labor Day for salt water swimming with life guards from Memorial Day-Labor Day; popular among day camps during these times as it features sports fields, picnic tables and grilling area, swimming lessons are offered each July; however alcoholic beverages, dogs, charcoal smoking or firepits are prohibited on either beach or sports field and parking is limited solely available to Town residents with beach stickers.

Gantheaume Point

Visit Gantheaume Point when in Broome for stunning ocean views and to appreciate its striking juxtaposition between red cliffs and turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. Gantheaume Point should ideally be visited during sunrise or sunset to witness how sunlight illuminates its red rock formations and sets off their turquoise waters; photography enthusiasts should visit here too as waves lap against its edge, offering incredible photographic opportunities.

Gantheaume Point is well known for its prehistoric history, offering visitors a glimpse into dinosaur footprints etched into reef rocks during periods of low tide. Concrete casts of these prints can also be found throughout Gantheaume Point for viewing purposes. An adjoining jetty provides views over Anastasia’s Pool – a natural spa pool created out of reef by one of the first lighthouse keepers as a gift to his wife suffering arthritis.

Gantheaume Point provides an amazing vantage point for viewing sunset over Cable Beach. While its spectacular view is certainly captivating, please keep in mind that this area is highly sensitive. There are strict rules about walking along beaches or entering water during turtle nesting season to avoid disturbing turtle eggs.

To reach Gantheaume Point, either take the Broome Explorer Bus during peak season (only available during summer) or walk along Cable Beach from Town Beach. Note that this one-way journey must be organized prior to embarking upon your day trip; alternative transport must be arranged when returning back into town at its conclusion.

At Cable Beach there are plenty of dining options, from cafes and restaurants to the Courthouse Markets held each Saturday and Sunday morning during the Dry Season in the heritage-listed Courthouse Gardens. At these markets you’ll find handicrafts for sale as well as local cuisine from Maryani’s Indonesian caravan satays or Kimberley Wild Gubinge which provides one of the highest natural sources of Vitamin C available anywhere!

Chinatown is the cultural heart of Broome, and an ideal spot to find boutique retail stores as well as traditional art and jewellery on display. There are also dining and entertainment options here – definitely worth a visit!

Reddell Beach

Reddell Beach in Broome is another must-see location, known for its pindan cliffs and crystal blue waters. A favorite among locals for swimming and relaxing, its picturesque backdrop includes red cliffs and peculiar rock formations that create a stunning picture-postcard scene. Plus its peaceful waters make this an ideal location for families with young children!

Reddell may not provide lifeguard-patrolled beaches, but you can still experience something truly memorable – camel rides can make an unforgettable journey along its shores at sunrise or sunset (during tourist season).
